More than 250 turn out for Ash Wednesday service at Fresno State
More than 250 people turned out for an Ash Wednesday service held at Fresno State’s Satellite Student Union and led by Bishop Armando X. Ochoa of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno.
The noon service, sponsored by the Newman Catholic Student Association of Fresno State and the St. Paul Newman Center, was held to mark the start of the Christian season of Lent. The service was held for faculty, staff and alumni, but it was also open to the public.
