Fire damages garage of southeast Fresno home
A fire that started in the garage of a two-story home in southeast Fresno was contained Sunday before damaging the rest of the house, a Fresno fire official said.
Smoke detectors alerted residents to the blaze, allowing them to escape without injury, said Battalion Chief Tim Fulmer.
The fire was reported about 2:50 p.m. at the home in the 5000 block of East Kaviland Avenue.
Officials were trying Sunday to determine what sparked the blaze.
