Small plane crashes at Fresno Yosemite International Airport

A small general aviation Piper PA-28 plane crashed at Fresno Yosemite International Airport on Wednesday afternoon, an airport spokeswoman said.

The cause of the crash, which happened around 2:30 p.m., is unknown, said Vikkie Calderon, the airport’s media and public relations officer. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.

One person was on board the plane and transported to the hospital, Calderon said. The crash did not affect airport operations, she said.
