Travis Kelce and other celebrity sightings at NASCAR weekend in Coronado
Three-time Super Bowl winner Travis Kelce was among the celebrity sightings over the weekend as NASCAR took over Naval Base Coronado for multiple races and a celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary.
In an Instagram post from Sports on Prime, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and co-host of the “New Heights” podcast was shown receiving a special branded NASCAR San Diego Weekend jacket and mingling with stars of the NASCAR community, including Dale Earnhardt Jr. Corey Heim was the winner of the Anduril 250, which was streamed on Prime Video.
“From the gridiron to the grid, Travis Kelce on-site for #NASCARonPrime at Naval Base Coronado,” the post said. His brother and fellow Super Bowl winner, Jason Kelce, was also in attendance.
It was the first-ever Cup race held in San Diego County. The base was the host of Friday's Craftsman Truck Series race and the O'Reilly Auto Parts series race on Saturday before Sunday’s NASCAR Cup finale. The NASCAR community brought along some of its own major stars to the track, including El Cajon native Jimmie Johnson.
After being seen earlier in the week at the U.S men's national team’s World Cup game in Seattle, another NFL legend, Marshawn Lynch, was also seen at NASCAR San Diego Weekend.
Actor Scott Eastwood, son of Clint Eastwood and star of “The Longest Ride” and the Taylor Swift music video for “Wildest Dreams,” was also in attendance.
Earlier in the weekend, Frankie Muniz, star of “Malcom in the Middle,” and its recent revival mini series, “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” was a participant in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He finished in 20th place after a wreck that caused what he described in an Instagram post as “severe damage.”
“Where do I start with this crazy San Diego race weekend,” said his post on Instagram. “Getting to host and meet some of America’s true heroes is a life impacting experience.”
Muniz also posted on Instagram about a trip to SeaWorld San Diego over the weekend.
