Music fans can now officially start making plans to attend the inaugural live music event at the San Jose Earthquakes’ PayPal Park.

The team is set to announce on Wednesday that the first-ever concert at PayPal Park will occur on Aug. 29 with the arrival BelicoFest.

The lineup for this Musica Mexicana festival will be announced at a later date.

“Home of the San Jose Earthquakes since 2015, PayPal Park has hosted world-class soccer, community programming, and large-scale sporting events, but never a concert,” according to a news release. “BelicoFest's arrival changes that, planting a flag for Musica Mexicana in a market where the genre has long outpaced its live infrastructure.”

Fans can register to buy tickets to the event by visiting belicofest.com.

"We're excited that BelicoFest is coming to PayPal Park for our inaugural concert," says San Jose Earthquakes President Jared Shawlee. "San Jose has become a premier destination for sports and entertainment, and we're proud to add world-class live music events to our lineup."

This is the third year for BelicoFest, which drew more than 30,000 fans to the Peso Pluma-headlined festival in 2025 in Phoenix. This year, the festival is set to visit both San Jose and Los Angeles, which promoters see as signaling “a broader ambition: not just to grow, but to scale the genre's live footprint into the country's most culturally significant Latin markets.”

BelicoFest, which is produced by For the For Culture and backed by Mexico City-based promoter 515 Entertainment, is the first of what is expected to be a number of concerts announced for PayPal Park — although it’s unclear how many we’ll see for 2026, especially since it’s relatively late in the game to be booking outdoor concerts for this year.

In all, PayPal Park is allowed to host as many as 15 concerts a year, a number that delights some live music fans and angers those in the neighborhood who are concerned about the noise that these shows will generate.

The Earthquakes’ application to host concerts was originally greenlit at a Planning Director’s meeting in November. Yet, that decision was quickly challenged by neighbors, who worried about the disruptive noise from these concerts and argued that San Jose’s environmental process was flawed.

The city would strike down that appeal in February, clearing the way for the venue to host concerts.

“The City thoroughly evaluated the potential noise, and implemented reasonable measures to mitigate the impacts to the neighborhood,” says land-use consultant Erik Schoennauer, who represents the Earthquakes. “PayPal Park is a key facility in the City’s strategy to create jobs and tax revenue from live music, sports and other events. Plus, these events are fun entertainment for San Jose residents.”
