If you haven't already snagged a raised garden bed or bought materials to build your own, you may want to head to your local Aldi next week.

Not only is the German grocery retailer bringing back the $15 raised planters it had a few weeks ago, but it's also dropping them in some fun new colors perfect for spring.

The planters are coming to stores April 29, and they look like they're made out of metal instead of wood like some similar items the store stocked this past month. Plus, because these Aldi finds tend to be rotated out every week, you may want to get to the store as soon as these hit shelves to ensure you grab one for you and your garden.

While specific information on the dimensions and materials used for the planters aren't available on the Aldi website yet, we can see that there will be three spring colors to choose from, including bright pink, turquoise blue and a standard black shade.

Depending on your home or garden aesthetic, any of these shades could easily be incorporated into your space. And if you were hoping for a more neutral tone like white or tan, or if you wanted a different color option like green and orange, you could easily spray paint the outside of these planters and DIY it.

You could even get more artistic with decoration and paint flowers, garden signs or other accents to make your planter more fun and whimsical.

What Can I Plant in Them?

Once you have this planter (or any raised planter, in fact), you may be wondering what you can plant in it.

If you want to keep a similar theme, a raised herb garden is the perfect way to use a raised planter. Not only will you have yummy fresh herbs to use for cooking, but it may also help keep animals like rabbits from being able to reach inside and eat your plants.

Some herbs that could be planted together or separately include:

  • Basil
  • Chives
  • Lavender
  • Oregano
  • Rosemary
  • Sage
  • Thyme

Whether you want to plant one crop like tomato plants, a collection of different herbs or a cut flower garden, these $15 raised planters at Aldi are not only affordable, but also an adorable and useful addition to any garden.
