Anonymous claims to release Trump’s Social Security number
Hacker group Anonymous apparently started its “total war” against Donald Trump on Thursday, releasing what is says are his Social Security number, cellphone number and other personal information.
A call to the cellphone number went straight to an automatic voice messaging system. Trump, if it was his number, was not available and his mailbox was full.
The group released a video Thursday calling for action, telling people it was time to stop the “forces of evil, bigotry and fascism that have come to the forefront of this election cycle.”
In a video released earlier this month, the group promised to “dismantle” Trump’s presidential campaign and “research and expose what he doesn’t want the public to know.”
As a Washington Post commentary pointed out Thursday, Anonymous has declared “war” on several groups over the years, including an earlier attack on Trump, ISIS twice and the KKK. “Those wars almost never lead to the total defeat of their enemies, as promised,” the Post said.
