The Greek Festival is an event that every good Fresnan should attend at least once. The three-day party – in its 55th year – is something of an institution in the community, drawing 30,000 attendees each year. Along with Greek food and entertainment (staples of the event), there are cooking demonstrations, an expanded kids’ play area, art tours and Greek wine tasting. Details: Friday Aug. 28 to Sunday Aug. 30, The St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 2219 N. Orchard St. Tickets: $6, free for children age 12 and younger. (559) 233-0397, http://fresnogreekfest.com
