Katie Holmes, 47, Looks So Refreshed in Rare Appearance That Internet Commenters Are Flipping Out
Katie Holmes looked so good in a rare appearance on Monday that Internet commenters are in a frenzy.
The beloved actress, 47, rose to stardom as Joey Potter on the WB teen series Dawson's Creek, and went on to roles in films like Batman Begins and Thank You For Smoking. Her 2006 marriage to Hollywood icon Tom Cruise sold endless tabloids and made Holmes a paparazzi target, despite ending in 2012. Now a devoted mom to the former couple's daughter, Suri, Holmes does her best to fly under the radar. Of course, whenever she steps out of her home, cameras come flashing with a quickness. So when the actress and budding director attended the Old Navy x Christopher John Rogers launch event at Old Navy Times Square on Monday in New York City, her refreshed look, which included a glowing face, had everyone wondering how she managed to look so darn good.
What is Katie Holmes Up to These Days?
This past summer, Holmes reunited with her Dawson's Creek costar Joshua Jackson for Happy Hours, which she wrote, starred in, and directed. The dramedy, which is a trilogy, was described to Deadline as a "story about two people (Jackson and Holmes) navigating their relationship within the challenges of careers and family responsibilities and the pursuit of love, despite life's inevitable obstacles. It's a character-driven dramedy that explores the emotional journey of young loves who reconnect as adults, with the connective thread of shared joys, loss, and hope."
Why Doesn't Katie Holmes Speak Out to the Press?
Notoriously private, Holmes generally stays mum when it comes to the press. However, the actress spoke out last year after a Daily Mailstory referred to her daughter as "Suri Cruise the millionaire."
"You can stop making stuff up," Holmes wrote across the photo, adding, "Enough" in the caption. Someone in the captions snapped back, "Hey are you worried if you can pay your rent AND eat this month? No? Yea me either 😅🙄 I Wish these were my problems."
In response, Homes said she "doesn't disagree" with that, but she still feels that it's important to defend her daughter.
"But in the world today, I don't want a target on my child's back," Holmes said. "It's dangerous."
