The Oakland Raiders had some fun away from organized team activities on Friday with go-kart racing.
Getting the last laugh and finishing on top was the Raiders’ signal caller Derek Carr, who finished 11 laps with a top time of 31.378.
The ex-Fresno State star poked fun at Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack for finishing towards the bottom, even trying to get Mack to say he finished with the top time.
Punter Marquette King chimed in, too.
The Raiders will begin mandatory three-day mini-camp June 13 in Alameda before reporting to training camp July 28 in Napa.
Karting’s nothing new for Carr, who along with brother and former NFL QB David Carr took on a 15-year-old Madera boy during a visit to Valley Children’s Hospital in May.
That visit was part of the Carr family’s ongoing efforts to give back to the hospital where Derek and Heather Carr’s own son, Dallas, underwent life-saving surgery shortly after his birth in 2013.
