Fresno closes out the opening homestand behind RH Dan Straily (1-0, 5.40 ERA). It will be the 38th career Triple-A start for the 26-year-old Oregon resident, who has made 42 in the majors with the A’s and Cubs. The Grizzlies will see a former teammate in Salt Lake RH Nick Tropeano (0-0, 3.00), acquired by the Angels in a November trade that sent Hank Conger to the Astros. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

A throwing error by Salt Lake third baseman Kyle Kubitza allowed pinch-runner Nolan Fontana to score the winning run in a wild 9-8 Grizzlies victory in 11 innings at Chukchansi Park. Matt Duffy began the 11th with a double, his fifth hit.Fresno led 7-0 most of the game before Salt Lake forced extras with a five-run ninth, all charged to reliever James Hoyt. Likewise, Bees starter Andrew Heaney had a night to forget. The Angels’ top prospect and No. 26 overall according to MiLB.com didn’t make it out of the first.
