But it was later Monday that the Bears showed resilience.

The Bears will head into the second day of the Classic at 2-0 and will face Cosumnes Oaks-Elk Grove at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Buchanan Stadium.

Twenty-six games were scheduled Monday in the tournament, with 25 planned for Tuesday and 17 Wednesday. The teams with the best records (fewest runs allowed as the first tiebreaker) play for the championship at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Clovis West.

Heading into Tuesday’s games, Fresno, Clovis East, Clovis North. Clovis West and Madera all join the Bears at 2-0 in the tournament.
