Prep baseball: Paradine leads Dinuba past Kingsburg for Fowler title

Tournament Most Valuable Player Jacob Paradine earned the win and drove in two runs as Dinuba High successfully defended its baseball title in the 31st Fowler Classic with a 7-4 win over Kingsburg at Fowler on Tuesday night.

Paradine, a junior right-hander, struck out six in six innings. He also had two hits. And his run-scoring groundout was part of a four-run third as the 10-7 Emperors established command for good.

Dinuba broke a scoreless tie in the third on a walk to Hunter Garrison, Israel Garcia’s single — one of his three hits — Zack Roberts’ single, Noah Kazirian’s bases-loaded walk, Paradine’s grounder, Austin Anguiano’s sacrifice fly and Greg Olmos’ RBI groundout.

The game was a rematch of the tournament’s 2009 all-Central Sequoia League final won by Kingsburg.

The Vikings (10-6) on Tuesday night outhit the Emperors 12-9, featuring two apiece from James Crinklaw, Ty Bamford and Paul O’Brien.
