Highlight: Placed second in the section (18-8.25) and sixth in the state (18-1) in the long jump. She's Edison's first individual female state medalist in 31 years and the school's third in the 38-year history of competition for girls.

Highlight: Placed second in the section (38-.25) and eighth in the state (37-11) in the triple jump. Her season best of 38-7 ranks No. 13 overall and No. 7 for a junior in section history.

Highlight: Tied for third in the section high jump at 5-3 but established herself as a force to come in the event two weeks earlier by leaping 5-6 – tied for No. 1 in the section for the season.
Vitals: Clovis West, senior, shot put/discus
Highlight: Rallied from a relatively speaking section-finals slump (fifth, discus; seventh, shot put) to not only place sixth in the state discus (137-0) but go on three weeks later to win the discus (150-10) at the Nike Track Nationals team competition in Eugene, Ore. Headed to Princeton of the Ivy League with a weighted high school GPA of 4.4, her season-best toss of 153-11 in the discus ranks No. 11 in section history.

Highlight: The Timberwolves' first section champion in the high jump, regardless of gender, her season best of 5-6 tied for No. 1 in the section and is tied for sixth for a freshman in section history.
Vitals: Buchanan, sophomore, 1,600/3,200
Highlight: Extending family tradition (older brother Heath is the section's eighth-best 3,200 runner of all-time), she placed second in the 3,200 and fifth in the 1,600 in the section before timing 10:51.12 for 19th in the state 3,200. That's No. 14 overall in section history and No. 8 for a sophomore.

Highlight: The state stage obviously agreed with her as she placed eighth in the 1,600 at 4:49.73 – No. 3 in section history behind Mission Prep's Jordan Hasay (4:39.13, 2007) and North's Linda Goen (4:44.8, 1979). This occurred two weeks after she finished fourth in the section finals at 5:05.12 one year after winning it at 5:00.24.

Highlight: In a year Clovis West senior Anginae Monteverde stirs the state with a winning 13-6, Campos begins carving her path to apparent greatness by sailing 11-6 – blowing away the section rookie mark of 10-7 by Kingsburg's Allison Knode in 1995. Golden West's Brooke Lankard is the section's sophomore standard bearer (11-6.50, 1996).

Highlight: Locking arms with classmate Campos in a promising future in southeast Clovis, Ikuma placed second in the section with a school-record 2:15.95 – No. 6 all-time in the section for a freshman.
