Prep highlights for 12/9: Clovis North edges Bullard in meeting of girls soccer powers

Tuesday’s highlights

GIRLS SOCCER

• 

Hannah Hall

blasted a shot off an assist from

Madison Abbott

that the keeper got her hand on but couldn’t stop in the 48th minute to lift Clovis North over Bullard 2-1. Abbott also scored the first goal for the Broncos, who were coming off a title run at the Harold S. Young Tournament over the weekend.

Reyna Valencia

was fouled in the box by the goalkeeper, then knocked home the penalty kick in overtime that sent Edison past Clovis West 3-2.



BOYS SOCCER

• 

Ryan Arkelian

had a hand in both goals, including the assist of

JT Arruda’s

go-ahead score in the 57th minute, as Buchanan beat Edison 2-1.



• McLane improved to 5-1-1 as

Jose Sagrero

scored twice in the Highlanders’ 3-1 win against Fresno Christian.



BOYS BASKETBALL

• 

Will Shannon

had 18 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for Mission Oak in a 96-60 win over Mt. Whitney.

Jose Chavez

each scored 24 points to power Sunnyside’s 82-74 victory against El Diamante.



• Hanford took control of the game by outscoring Sanger 21-4 in the third quarter, and rode 17 points from

Trent Reynolds

to a 58-35 win.



GIRLS BASKETBALL

Ashley Cross

scored 17 points while

Danae Marquez

and

Sarah Bates

added 14 apiece in Clovis West’s 63-46 victory against Del Oro.

scored 16 points in Madera’s 60-49 defeat of Buchanan.
