Became the seventh wrestler in Buchanan history to capture a state title with his 7-0 victory over Bakersfield’s Navonte Demison in the final. It was Lloren’s third state medal, following fifth-place finishes at 113 pounds in 2014 and 106 in 2013, when he became his school’s first freshman to place. Lloren, who won titles this season at the Powerade, TRAC, Yosemite Divisional and Central Section Masters tournaments, is 143-21 in his career. Lloren is ranked eighth nationally by InterMat. His father, Durbin Lloren Sr., was a state champ at 149 pounds for Tracy High in 1983.

Captured the first state title in Clovis North history with a 3-1 victory over Clovis’ Adam Prentice. It was the fifth time in as many weeks the state top-ranked Flores defeated No. 2 Prentice, winning a league dual as well as in the TRAC, Yosemite Divisionals and Central Section Masters finals. Flores, who has committed to Stanford, also won titles at the Doc Buchanan, MidCals and the Battle for the Best tournaments and was fifth at the prestigious Walsh Ironman. Older brother Ryan Flores won state titles for Buchanan in 2006 and 2007.

Became the second-heaviest freshman to win a state title when he pinned Bullard’s Bevan Brandt in 3:00 during the final. Only older brother Nick Nevills was a heavier freshman champ when he won at 285 in 2011. Nevills produced 31 of Clovis’ team-record 276.5 points as the Cougars won their record-extending fifth straight title. Nevills also was champion at the Zinkin, Doc Buchanan, TRAC, Yosemite Divisionals and Central Section Masters tournaments. Older brothers Zach (one) and Nick (three) have combined for four state titles, while older brother AJ was a runner-up this season.

The co-coaches directed another record-shattering run through the CIF State Championships as the Cougars’ re-wrote their own mark with 276.5 points (20 more than they scored in 2012) while extending records of five straight and 13 overall team titles. Clovis also produced a record 10 medalists, including champions Justin Mejia (113), Seth Nevills (220) and Hexton Coronado (285), runners-up in Josh Hokit (170), AJ Nevills (182) and Adam Prentice (195), third-place finishers Khristian Olivas (138) and Dominic Kincaid (160), fifth-place Isaiah Hokit (152) and sixth-place Jared Hill (145). The Cougars finished ranked No. 5 nationally by InterMat.
