The Fresno State baseball team lost 7-2 Wednesday afternoon at UC Santa Barbara in the Bulldogs’ only game away from home this month.
The Gauchos scored five in the seventh to break open a close game and hand Fresno State its first loss after a season-opening, four-game sweep of Michigan State.
The Bulldogs sent 13 different batters to the plate and used seven pitchers in classic midweek college baseball fashion.
Fresno State returns home for a four-game weekend series against Houston Baptist beginning Friday night. UC Santa Barbara visits Beiden Field next Wednesday then the Bulldogs begin Mountain West Conference play March 2 with a series at UNLV.
