Fresno State squandered an early four-run lead en route to a 10-6 nonconference baseball loss to Cal Poly on Tuesday in San Luis Obispo.
The Bulldogs went up 5-1 in the top of the third inning and made it 6-2 in the sixth, but the Mustangs responded with a five-spot in the bottom half to go ahead for good at 7-6.
Taylor Temple doubled, singled and drove in two runs to lead Fresno State (18-19), which returns to Mountain West Conference play Friday for the opener of a three-game series at Air Force.
Brett Barbler was 4 for 5 with four RBIs for the Mustangs (15-18), finishing a home run shy of hitting for the cycle.

Compton named MW pitcher of week
Fresno State junior right-hander Jill Compton was named the Mountain West Conference pitcher of the week for the fourth time this season and seventh time in her career after winning three games for the Bulldogs between April 7-12.
Compton helped Fresno State go 5-1 for the week, posting a 1.30 ERA over 27 innings. Her 174 strikeouts on the season ranked 23rd nationally.
The MW co-leading Bulldogs (30-14, 11-4) return to Margie Wright Diamond on Friday to open a three-game series against Boise State.
