DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Will Smith homered and doubled, scoring three runs while driving in two as the Oklahoma City Dodgers beat the Iowa Cubs 10-5 on Monday.
Drew Jackson doubled and singled twice with two runs for Okla. City.
Iowa tied the game 3-3 in the third after Trent Giambrone hit a two-run home run and Phillip Evans hit an RBI double.
Okla. City answered in the next half-inning when Rob Zastryzny hit an RBI double, scoring Cameron Perkins.
The Dodgers later added four runs in the fifth and two in the eighth. In the fifth, Jake Peter and Perkins hit RBI singles, while Smith hit a two-run home run in the eighth.
Layne Somsen (2-0) got the win in relief while Iowa starter Duncan Robinson (0-1) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.
For the Cubs, Giambrone was a triple short of the cycle, driving home two runs. Ian Happ homered and singled, scoring a couple of runs while also driving home two.
