Grizzlies Report for April 14


Grizzlies on Tuesday:

RH Jake Buchanan will make his first start and second appearance of the season for the Grizzlies against Salt Lake LH Andrew Heaney. Buchanan went 7-5 in 15 starts with a 3.87 ERA for Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2014 while also earning some time with the Astros, making two starts in 17 appearances for a 1-3 record and 4.58 ERA. In his last outing, Buchanan got the win with four innings of relief work, giving up one run and two hits in the Grizzlies’ 2-1 season-opening win over Las Vegas.


Monday rewind:

Things started looking bleak for the Grizzlies as Salt Lake starter and Los Angeles Angels pitcher Garrett Richards retired the side in the first two innings of his rehab start. Fresno turned it around in the third on LJ Hoes two-run double en route to a 12-4 victory for the team’s second comeback victory in a row.


Stat of the day:

Designated hitter Preston Tucker went 2 for 5 at the plate, with both hits two-run homers.
