Regarding Noah Smith’s article “Despite scare, U.S. isn’t close to debt crisis” (April 21): He must be kidding when he tells us all to “resist the urge to engage in debt hysterics.”
People are not as stupid as he seems to think we are regarding debt. No matter what kind of spin people create regarding the size of the U.S. debt burden – whether you use the Time article’s total amount or Mr. Smith’s lesser amount – it’s still wrong! This is why so many people, myself included, are looking to Donald Trump.
Things cannot continue the way they are. The amount of U.S. debt is unconscionable, and the blame and shame are on President Obama and all current politicians for allowing it to get so out of hand.
I’m disgusted that hardworking, tax-paying Americans have been saddled with this outrageous debt, and so have our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and probably generations beyond them will be as well. I am looking for change to make America great again.
