On Jan. 22, I wrote a letter to The Bee arguing against the editorial board’s contention that the world is now “a safer place” since we came to a diplomatic resolution with Iran.
I questioned that premise yet presumed that it would take more than a year before we had an accurate measure to see who was right.
I was certainly wrong. It took much less than four months to determine that Iran is still a terrorist country and a prime agent of destabilization in the Middle East.
From ballistic missile testing to the shipping of weapons of war to other Middle East countries, it is clear that the world is not a safer place. The fool-hearted attempt at diplomacy with a country that respects only its own power and profit was a waste of time, money and leverage while positioning us poorly for future dealings with Iran.
