Why don’t they build new homes with holding tanks and pumps so gray water could be used to water lawns and flower beds? Older homes could be retrofitted with the tank and pump, and the owners could get tax breaks to help with the cost.
Also, why don’t they refill Tulare Lake? It was the biggest freshwater lake in California. Why the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was allowed to drain it would be interesting to know.
Surely J.G. Boswell Co. could give up a thousand acres so the lake could be refilled. Think what it would do for the aquifer.
