When you have a problem with your trash pickup, you usually blame the driver. Well, never again.
On a recent early, cold morning, I woke to the sound of my neighbor calling for help. He had fallen in the garage after putting his trash can out. He could not get up, and I was not able to help. As I stood there, I heard the Allied truck coming.
I flagged down Anthony Aguirre, the driver, and asked for his help. He parked his truck and offered to help but wasn't able to lift my neighbor up. We heard the second truck coming, and he told me to get the other driver. I did and Luis Jiminez parked his truck and asked where he could help. The two of them were able to lift my neighbor and help him to his walker, then to his door, and then they were gone.
Disguised as Allied trash truck drivers, our two angels, Anthony and Luis drove off in their big blue trucks.
God bless you, Anthony and Luis, for stopping and helping a stranger in need.
