America should officially recognize the Armenian Genocide because it clearly did happen.
Even though recognizing the genocide could ruin the military relationship between the America and Turkey, it is better to admit it now than regret it later, because if we let a country slip, other countries will think they could also get away with a mass massacre.
In addition, a statement from the United States will have a bigger impact on the world, so everyone could know what the real cruelty of a genocide is.
Finally, even though it will not change anything of the past, the admittance of the Armenian Genocide will at least prevent future genocide recurrences.
