Demand freedom for Cuba

President Obama intends to remove Cuba from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism. Not so fast!

There is the question of human rights and political freedom, which Cuba has not acknowledged yet. Before we make this move, Cuba must release thousands of political dissidents who are incarcerated for minor offenses. The Obama administration must demand and not give in to Cuba’s refusal to do so.

Fidel Castro assumed power promising the Cuban people freedom and jobs. Under his progressive government, they would lack nothing.

Well, you know the rest of the story. Dictatorship and oppression became the norm.

If Cuba wants restrictions removed, they must comply and become a free nation, as it once was before. Dictatorial oppression must end. The people deserve better.
