Letters to the Editor

City folk are idiots about water

There are a lot of idiots in this world, but it seems like the Letters to the Editor section is full of them lately.

They complain about a 20-25% reduction in residential water use. They claim farmers are not paying a price, the poor city person is paying the price.

What don’t these city folk understand about zero or 5% of the farmers’ normal water allotment? Let’s see how the city folk would do if they got 5% of their normal water, and then the tap went dry.

Do you think the delta smelt would become a little less important or endangered? The farmers have millions invested in crops. The city folk would like them just to plow them under to save water.

How about city folk just tear down your houses? It would save water. A bunch of idiots!
