Parkway is is good hands

I’m thrilled that Sharon Weaver has been selected to succeed me as executive director of the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust. (Mark Grossi‘s March 26 online article “Deputy director to lead SJR parkway trust.”) Since Sharon joined the Trust in 1999, she quickly gained experience and her responsibilities rose to directing trust program areas and collaborating with our many partners to advance the parkway for everyone.

As Sharon takes the reigns and I transition out as a staffer, I send a big hearty “thank you” to everyone that’s had a role in putting the San Joaquin River Parkway on the map. It’s been a privilege for me to help conserve these special river places and to provide opportunities for people to get outside and enjoy them.

The trust has tremendous energy with the expertise to enable the parkway’s full potential as a regional asset to be realized. Please protect the river, enjoy the river and support the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust. As my mentor Gene Rose says, “Stewardship is forever.”
