On March 7, a small news article reported that members of the California Air National Guard’s 144th Fighter Wing would be performing a military exercise from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. that “may cause increased aircraft noise in the area.”
It certainly did! More than 90 decibels negatively impacted thousands of Fresno families and their pets.
It’s not just the noise pollution. Jet-fuel exhaust increases air pollution over our city. We are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for maintaining and fueling these Air Guard jets each year.
Do we really need these very large and extremely noisy jets flying over our houses and hurting our quality of life? Approximately 10 military jets fly over daily and disrupt lives. (Commercial jets do not disrupt our bodies and conversations).
The March 7 exercise simulated “a combat support mission.”
Is it possible to perform these military exercises or war games out of Lemoore Naval Air Station or another airfield away from populated, residential areas?
