I would like to thank David Mas Masumoto for his beautiful article on Feb. 15.
It ran almost two years to day of my father’s passing. My Armenian father was raised on a farm prior to World War II. His best friend was a Japanese boy whose parents owned a farm nearby. My dad was deeply hurt when his friend and family were forced to leave for an internment camp a state away.
My grandpa took care of their farm until they returned two years later. This year I am going to plant forget-me-nots, so I can better remember the Armenian Genocide, my wonderful dad and the hurtful past of many Japanese people.
