Along with many other people from the Central Valley and environs, I took the bus up to Oakland, Jerry Brown’s hometown, for the March for Climate Leadership on Feb. 7.
We joined thousands of other Californians (7,000-9,000) who wanted to send the governor a message: We need a moratorium on fracking in our state!
The Bee has provided us with many great articles about air and water quality — such as the “Waste Sent into Aquifers” article (Feb. 6)about the state approval of oil field dumping of fracking waste water into potential drinking water.
I and others who traveled to Oakland were very disappointed to find not one word in The Bee about our well-attended action to stop the fracking for oil and gas in our state. Without media coverage, we cannot call attention to the threat of fracking to our air, water and increased global climate change.
