What city was highlighted on national news networks this week? Us!
Fresno is ground central for the first major high-speed rail project in America. How can we not be excited about this? Not only will enormous economic benefits flow to our Valley, but we are getting the prestige of being at the forefront of an entirely new industry. This is precisely what this Valley needs.
But still up in the air is where the huge “garage” to repair the trains will be established. Fresno is the obvious choice, but our three 19th century “know-nothing” county supervisors opposed high-speed rail. So give all of that money and great paying jobs to Burbank? Hayward? That attitude is purely seditious, and the citizens of this Valley should rightfully be incredulous that those supervisors felt that way.
Thank you, Mayor Ashley Swearengin and Supervisor Henry Perea, for backing this project and the interests of all Valley citizens from the start. Finally, let us be loud and proud. We want that bullet train garage/service center to be built here. Solidify Fresno as the center of this new industry. Full speed ahead at 220 mph and watch for us on the national news.
