Cost of food

How is it possible that someone living in the Central Valley town of Hanford be so oblivious as to where the food in the grocery store comes from (letter Oct. 12).

Maybe Jason Barclay should pay 40% to 50% of his income for food like other countries do. Now that would be something he could whine about.

I hope he enjoys his lawn for lunch. I'm sure it will taste just about as good as the expensive produce coming from other countries if local farmers can't get the water they contracted for.
