Letters to the Editor

No more manners?

They say that a measure of a man is the esteem of his friends; another measure is the evil stupid hatred shown by his enemies.

Judging from the vicious signs, ugly strident words and faces of the president's enemies parading around our nation's capital the other day, the rest of us should be getting ready to add his face to Mt. Rushmore.

The shameful exhibit of part of our national character the other day was so embarrassing to me as an American that I just hang my head in shame.

It is very possible to have differences of opinion on the ways of accomplishing something, and even on whether it should be accomplished, but we have a language, we have procedures, we used to have manners.
