How can we be critical of the payments to AIG execs and not be equally critical of welfare recipients or those getting relief from foreclosure?
We characterize the AIG bonuses as payment for failure or rewarding poor performance. The same can be said for never-married mothers getting government assistance or people who took on debt above their ability to repay.
Let's be consistent. Those in our government (including our president) clamoring for AIG execs to return the money should demand the same from the welfare class.
