I applaud The Bee's op-ed piece (Aug. 19) on way-too-early promotions of presidential politics, new car sales and Christmas. The writer, Andy Cowan, complained about Christmas music on radio "as early as Nov. 1."'
I can beat that. On July 8 -- four days after Fourth of July fireworks -- the display window at Fashion Fair's Hallmark Store featured Christmas ornaments. I kid you not.
I complained by e-mail to Hallmark and got the usual corporate blather in return, so I decided to boycott Hallmark.
A lot of good that does since I already was sending only cards by e-mail to friends and family from rubberchickencards.com.
