Still missing message

Regarding the "Bush plays al-Qaida card again" story May 3, the quote from Rep. Dan Burton, R-Ind., is interesting.

He says, "I can't understand how my colleagues on the other side of the aisle, knowing that al-Qaida is in charge over there, knowing that they want to destroy us, knowing that Osama bin Laden wants to destroy America, that you want to pull out."

What I want to know is how did we go from Saddam Hussein being in charge in 2003 to al-Qaida being in charge in 2007 when we have been there the entire time? I was under the impression that we have been looking for bin Laden.

I thought the al-Qaida terror card had been overplayed back in 2002; some people still haven't gotten the message.
