Ballot shortages

In the May 3 issue of The Bee appears an article,"Congressional panel to investigate Florida election," in which the count came up short 18,000 ballots.

I remember some years back a boondoggle in Florida election returns, the year George W. Bush was put into the presidential chair by the U.S. Supreme Court, only that time the count was something like 50,000 ballots short.

If that had not happened, Vice President Al Gore would have had the president's chair, and there would not have been an Iraq war, nor a multi-trillion-dollar deficit, nor a loss of thousands of our armed forces.

Some stuff, eh?
