'Small price to pay'

I have ridden a bike for 25 years. Maybe once I didn't stop for a stop sign. But high praise to the California Highway Patrol officer who gave Joseph Gentry a ticket [letter May 1]. Rules apply to all type of vehicles, including bicycles.

I have almost been knocked down by a bicyclist riding on side walk and one almost hit my truck for failing to stop at a stop sign. Carrying identification is smart. If Mr. Gentry were killed or hurt, how would the family be notified? It is a small price to pay to go to class for his red-light running.
