No reason to celebrate

I am not as thrilled as The Bee about the state Supreme Court's ruling on Proposition 35 in favor of outsourcing California public works projects to the lowest non-union bidder. Bashing public employees and unions may be popular these days, but it doesn't make economic sense and is not good for our communities.

Outsourcing is a code word for foreign companies and lowest non-union bidder is code for illegal aliens -- or haven't you noticed the proliferation of foreign construction workers throughout the Valley? It looks like Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and the State Supremes have just thrown open $20 billion of public works money to foreign companies and illegal aliens. I don't see any reason for celebrating that.
