Demand withdrawal

The Democratic Party and the Iraq Study Group (appointed by Congress in 2006) want our country to accept a phased withdrawal from Iraq. President Bush believes that announcing a phased withdrawal from Iraq would weaken our military and strengthen our enemies. Who is right?

Several facts must be considered to make this decision:

There was no valid reason to invade Iraq.

The few allies who supported us in Iraq are pulling out.

The Iraq war is a full-scale civil war between Islamic sects that have hated each other for more than 1,000 years.

The Iraq Study Group stated, "The situation in Iraq is grave and deteriorating." Our country cannot win a military victory in Iraq regardless of what we do. The only difference between pulling out in 2008 versus pulling out later is that we will waste more American lives and more hundreds of billions of dollars. The long-term outcome will not change.

Please contact President Bush and your representatives in Congress and demand that we begin a phased withdrawal in 2008.
