Basic human needs

Ditto to Venice McElvany (letter April 21): Permanent public toilets should be installed on Monterey Street, at the very least. A toilet is a fundamental necessity for all, not just the homeless.

Consideration for basic human needs should be the first priority when funds are being allocated for public projects.

If projects happen like the street remodeling at Cedar and Shields avenues and the curb street tree planters on Olive Avenue in the Tower District, then so should the toilets.
