The article, "Nowhere else is home" (April 18), caught my eye as soon as I opened the newspaper. I was very pleased to read about the new plan to aid the homeless with restrooms, mental health and addiction help, as well as other sanitation. Even though some homeless individuals are forced or choose to live beneath the Monterey Street bridge, they are still human beings who deserve to utilize every day resources that separate them from animals.
A new and improved homeless center will undoubtedly provide a sense of hope for future endeavors by the city of Fresno. Homelessness has and probably always will be a crucial issue without a definite solution, but it is acts of kindness such as these that will at least make the lives of the destitute a little more comfortable.
