I was horrified to learn that Circuit City will be replacing "better paid employees" with "lower-cost employees" [story March 29]. Did they forget to mention that the majority of these employees have been with Circuit City for 15 to 20 years and have been loyal to the company? So, are they implying that loyalty is not valued?
Sadly, Circuit City will cut its costs at the expense of older workers. This suggests age discrimination, as the seasoned and more experienced employee is no longer valued. I personally will not set foot in a store that treats its employees in this manner. I will cut up my Circuit City credit cards and urge others to do the same. We need to show our support to those employees who were laid off. If this practice catches on, your company may be next.
