Dam makes no sense

With all this talk about "global warming," it is alarming that our political powers at hand and farmers are pushing the construction of a new dam [at Temperance Flat].

The Bureau of Reclamation, in its original report, stated that there will be no additional water right to the proposed reservoir. This new lake will never get to capacity. Friant Dam catches and stores somewhere in the area of 99% of all seasonal run-off that comes down the San Joaquin River.

So where is the sense in spending $4 billion on a dam that will catch 1% of the water that is not currently being caught by the Friant Dam? Not to mention the flooding of the current hydroelectric power plants, reducing the amount of wattage available. There is no plan to replace them -- oh yeah, there is the proposed nuclear plant.
