'Even in Fresno'

I'd like to comment on Larry Ham's assertions (letter March 17) concerning KFPT. Having spent the last 50 years listening to Fresno-area radio (starting with The Bee's Sunday comics on the old KMJ), I can assure him that KFPT has a consistent audience and there are plenty of people listening.

The only reason I patronize certain businesses is because they advertise on KFPT. The problem for a station like Air America in the Valley is the demographics. We are still a KMJ-loving, narrow-minded town. I hope another radio station has the intelligence to pick-up Air America and prove that capitalism and progressive thought can co-exist, even in Fresno.
