Letters to the Editor

Good enough for all?

If we truly want to fix the problem of disgraceful facilities and appalling medical treatment for our veterans, I propose the following: Effective immediately, all elected and retired federal government representatives and their family members, from the president down, may only obtain medical care from VA centers.

Since their children, for the most part, are "too good" to actually serve in Iraq or Afghanistan and risk permanent injury or death, at least these politicians and their families should not be deemed above the veterans who've risked life and limb to protect our nation when it comes to hospitals and medical services.
