'Race-sex imperative'

Another example of the fruitlessness of American political correctness appeared in The Bee article complaining that having too many white male judges "fails to reflect California's population" (March 3).

Focusing on "diversity" rather than, say, right order, the article doesn't mention the real question: whether white male judges in general are less wise or dispense less justice, or just how female or multi-ethnic judges would be wiser and bring more justice "reflective of our population."

Through all the lessons learned in the past, traditional justice was the surest lodestar in America's more honest, robust days before the Procrustean race-sex imperative took over.
