Family strikes 'gold' a short drive from Fresno

On a recent Saturday afternoon, we struck gold at the Gold Gulch Museum located on the site of the old Broken Bit Restaurant in Coarsegold. My son spent several hours gold panning, soapstone carving, touring a mine shaft and going on a treasure hunt (complete with a map and compass). He ended his day with a half dozen trips down a zip line that crosses over the creek. What a wonderful place to celebrate our "Great California History" and have some fun, too!

When I asked Adam what his favorite part of his adventure was, he responded: "I loved it all. It was a great day and I can't wait to go back!"

The Gold Gulch Museum is a true gem and it's definitely worth the short drive outside of Fresno. So when you want to have a change of pace, travel back in time to this very family friendly treasure.
