I am commenting on Rep. Devin Nunes' position on the Iraq war as of Feb. 15. His speech is available on his Web site. Although I don't agree with Rep. Nunes on the surge, he does have a right to state that opinion.
In his speech on the floor of the House of Representatives, he asked, "What next?" That is my question. What next? I hear no plan from the Republicans to do anything except send more troops.
We are not going to talk with others in the area to stop the support of the insurgents or help the Iraqi government. Saudi Arabia is still sending hundreds of millions of dollars to support the Sunni insurgents, but we do not talk to them to stop the flow of support. We will not talk to Iran on any issue, unless they stop enriching uranium.
We are focusing all our resources on one small area of the world claiming we are fighting terror. This policy appears shortsighted.

What is next? The Republican Party has no plan other than staying in Iraq indefinitely. Again, what is their plan?
